Our Opinion "We have been flying and demoing the Best Kahoona kites since they were first released, we were mighty impressed back in 2009 but boy have they come on a long long way. The new Kahoona V4 and + are such a fantastic choice for a huge variety of rider levels and styles. This year the kites have once evolved around huge stability and canopy tightness in the tips and on the trailing edge, The depower is not only big but smooth and comfortable. The BEST thing about the Kahoona V4 is its ability to deliver performance in flat water, in waves, unhooked, hooked in, doing freestyle - This is easily one of the most versatile kites we have ever ridden"

How has the Kahoona been improved for 2012? The Kahoona v4 has undergone several design tweaks to the leading edge sweep and the wingtip shape. By increasing the effectiveness of the steering control surfaces we have improved the overall steering responsiveness of the new Kahoona, giving tighter wingtip turns, without affecting its other handling and performance characteristics. The DNA and core characteristics of the Kahoona v3 have been preserved in the new v4; it retains its mid aspect ratio, quad strut, highly swept SLE layout, delivering rock solid stability, great low end, surprising jumping performance and the easiest relaunch in its class. What makes the Kahoona so stable and easy to fly? The weight distribution and center of effort placement in the canopy are in perfect harmony in the Kahoona allowing us to eliminate any and all traces of front or backstall. The Kahoona has a reputation for incredibly easy relaunch, what contributes to this? It’s really a combination of features. The back sweep of the leading edge, the canopy curvature and the attachment point positioning on the wingtip and leading edge all contribute to the Kahoona’s effortless relaunch. The sweep allows the kite to roll automatically on to its wingtip before you flick the kite up into the air to complete the relaunch maneuver. What is the Kahoona + v4? The Kahoona + v4 is the first Kahoona kite to come with EZ-Pump rapid inflation system so you can get out on the water faster than ever to enjoy even more riding time. Sizes: 47cm, 52cm, 57cm The Red-Line Performance Bar v2 combines everyone’s favorite features and safety options into one unbeatable bar. Simple enough for anyone to understand, yet with enough versatility to satisfy even the most demanding riders, it’s guaranteed to set the standard yet again this season. The push-to-release QR now comes in a Pro-Cuff version to eliminate accidental releases without increasing the minimum release tension. With only one moving part, the Click-It QR is easy to reassemble and designed to work consistently with a positive release action with release loads in excess of 150kgs. The under bar swivel has been improved with added drainage vents and low profile twist-tabs making it smoother to turn no matter how many loops you’ve thrown. Depower line wear is eliminated with the introduction of our new Sacrifice Insert System of replaceable low friction Delrin bar center inserts. The RP-Bar v2 retains the dual center depower lines, stopper ball, redline and suicide safety options of the previous performance bar. The v2 is the perfect bar for riders of all levels who demand the most reliable and predictable safety system options and ease of use features. New ultra soft, low profile molded bar ends with integral line winders help make those one handed loops easier than you expected and a new 3D grip pattern ensures you stay in contact with the bar however you ride.
