The F-One Bandit 3 (III) has a brand new design with a higher aspect ratio, a new profile, a deeper C shape, and bigger fully segmented struts. F-One have also shortened the bridle which is now attached to four points on the kite and equipped with three pulleys. All four lines have the same length and the V on the front lines is longer. On top of that the Bandit 3 only requires one pump and includes a new stainless steel UPS HP integrating the life line clipping on the bar when riding unhooked. The Bandit  III retains all the qualities and innovations of the Delta C Shape such as the auto relaunch the EVO bridle system and the lifeline (acting as a fifth line on a four lined kite)

Beginners

Speed control and easy upwind tacking on a large wind range are essential qualities for a beginner’s kite. The front oriented traction makes it easier to stay upwind and find the right weight balance on the board. Proper riding position, immediate depower and simple setup will help beginners learn faster. Furthermore the auto relaunch and life line fulfill the safety needs of the newbie riders.

Freeride

The B3’s large wind range lets you ride a whole session without feeling strongest wind changes; Traction from the window edge makes the board lighter and eases tacking on the choppy. The shortened power-depower bar travel and the reduced bar traction on the rider’s arms grant an optimal riding position. While jumping, place the kite to the zenith is easier and the optimized lift makes smoother landings. The direct bar information in the control bar let you chose the best placement for your kite.

Freestyle

With easy power control, easy overpower riding and simple adaptation to changing winds, you are all set to go big! Even when jumping in the high end it’s easy to fly the kite to zenith thanks to the depower and optimized window edge. With its aerodynamics improvements the B3 launches you higher and glides longer than other kites. The precise and intuitive control bar comforts you on the kite’s position and trajectory. Your attention will be free to focus on tricks and new figures. When kitelooping, the B3 retains its speed as it flies back to zenith and guarantees a soft landing. From the smallest to the biggest B3 surfaces, the feelings are similar and you’ll be able to switch from one size to another with no adaptation time.

Wave riding

For a relaxed surf session the use of a smaller and more responsive kite is necessary. B3’s great power, its wide wind range and depower make it an outstanding wave rider. The wind window edge and its front oriented traction ease the board and set it free for carving. B3’s quick and short depower and the upfront traction are perfect for offshore conditions and performing engaged off the lips. With 25 knots onshore you can use the 6m² (square meters) for responsiveness and comfort when making rollers. The auto relaunch will get you out of tricky situations and the force frame structure of the B3 will resist anything.

Unhooked

Thanks to our R&D work on the bar feeling and the power depower bar travel, we have controlled the influence of the backlines when riding unhooked. You will be able to unhook with no stress knowing that you won’t experience any violent boost. The gain on the window edge also helps you keep control with less side traction. It will ease edging the board and reduce offside deportation during jumps. The good setup of the frontlines is easier and no longer needs continuous adjustments for a better riding. The kite’s track when turning or kitelooping is smoother and more natural. Also the information return in the control bar is extremely precise and you’ll always know where the kite is. The new HP UPS clips in the bar when unhooked. It’s slim and even with a one handed central grab it won’t bother you. The chicken loop will remain accessible when you want to rehook. Thanks to the suicide loop which is built around the upper part, you can directly attach the leash on it. In addition the connector turns around the UPS in a way that keeps the leash clear and in the perfect position. The auto relaunch is a priceless asset when you crash the kite many times at training. The force frame design made with the highest Dacron grade grants the B3 a great lifetime for extreme freestyle riding.

Racing

The racing competitions are often won or lost on upwind. That’s where the B3 is excellent with its efficient window edge, its available depower and its margin on wind range. Your straighter riding position helps controlling wide racing boards as well as the foil effect of large fins. On down wind, the accelerations and the max speed will remind you that the Bandit is the kite used by Alex Caizergues, our world speed recordman.

Long distance raids

B3’s wide wind range, it’s great max speed, its constant and ideal traction are great for long downwind runs. Add to that a stable and responsive board and you’ll want to go for your own Corsica crossing in less than 5 hours!

Speed

Flying an 8m² in 50 knots can be a kitemare but with the B3 you’ll keep cool as traction remains controllable and kite profile doesn’t distort. This great control is what Alex Caizergues needs to beat his own record: his attention is no longer focused on the kite and those crazy wind gusts but on trajectory and optimizing board speed. This is way more pleasant than fighting the wind and resisting offside traction.

Which improvements were brought to the F-One Bandit 3? Text From F-One

Wind range

We have kept the excellent low end of the Bandit Dos and improved its high end. As a result the riders need fewer kites for a complete quiver and our sport becomes more accessible to a greater number of people. This is also the guarantee of more comfort in a kiting day as the wind is never perfect.

Window edge

A kite towing more up front releases pressure from the board and allows a smoother ride with less resistance. B3 makes upwind easier and more efficient.

Power-Depower

Usually bridle kites have long power-depower bar travels so we made an effort to reduce it. On the B3 we mainly use the lower part of the power-depower course. Depower is faster, more available and bar traction is not excessive. Your riding position is more vertical and you don’t have to reach so much up with your arms. With this improved ergonomics you’ll be more efficient and comfortable. Another important asset of the B3 is the clam cleat which no longer needs continuous adjustments. The B3 can virtually keep the same setup while over-powered or under-powered.

Bar feeling and maneuverability

With the Bandit 3 the information return is more precise, you will intuitively feel your kite and know where it’s heading to. All the design improvements combined with a deeper C Shape result in smoother turns and shorter radius. While performing a kiteloop the Bandit 3 keeps its speed and returns quickly to zenith.

Stability

The Bandit 3 gained in stability thanks to its enhanced Delta C Shape. It protects you better from bad wind gusts especially on zenith and window edges. It is also really tolerant with placement mistakes while riding.
